We believe that quality childcare depends upon consistent caregiving in a language-rich environment. Children grow and learn best in a safe atmosphere that provides opportunities to explore, create and communicate with other children and adults. Our program is designed to be inclusive of all children, including those with identified disabilities and special learning/developmental needs.
Our program is designed to include both planned and spontaneous activities in response to children’s interests. Our daily schedule has a mix of student-led, play based and teacher-directed lessons and activities. We infuse movement throughout the day & take the attention span of each child into consideration when planning activities. Experiences with music, movement, art, language and building are incorporated into daily plans. Regularly scheduled snacks and meals, rest time, indoor and outdoor play, and routines for primary care promote the child’s health, comfort and ability to care for him/herself.
Flexibility, choice-making and self-advocacy are promoted for the children as a group and as individuals.
Children are encouraged to develop a positive self-image, learn self-regulation skills and to cooperate with peers and caregivers. Clearly defined limits help them recognize and accept their emotions and express their feelings as they grow and feel secure in the world around them.
Minding Miracles opened our doors on January 16, 1998 in Old Bridge, NJ. Initially, we provided part-time and weekend programming, designed to enhance the social and cognitive capabilities of young children. In the fall of 2001, we opened our first full-time preschool program. Since then, we've established four family-run locations within Middlesex & Monmouth County. With over 200 children of various ages in our care, Minding Miracles continues to embrace the ever-growing research on child development to employ empirically-based classroom techniques. The physical development, academic fulfillment, emotional health and self-determination of each of our students remains the forefront of all Minding Miracles programming decisions.
Kathy DeMarco founded Minding Miracles Learning Center in 1998 out of a commitment to quality programming accessible by all children, despite their developmental level or abilities. As the single mother of four, Kathy attained her Bachelor and Masters degrees while working full-time and advocating for children. In 2014, Kathy became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Her passion of creating an environment where children are honored and supported as spiritual beings is the cornerstone for Minding Miracles.
