Beacon Achievement Center was established in 2017, as a division of Minding Miracles Learning Center. Beacon provides comprehensive services for teens and adults with developmental disabilities. Beacon's staff focus on creating age-appropriate activities to support an individual's goals and aspirations. A concentrated focus is given to skill sets that enhance the individual's quality of life and self-actualization. Behaviors are addressed in a manner that is respectful to the individual and centers on teaching appropriate responses to environmental stimuli. We believe that dignity and respect are the cornerstone for the quality of human life. Each person has the right to live their life the best way they can; free from fear of isolation, discrimination, and loneliness. We step away from judgement and embrace each person for who they are. We take all the necessary measurements to ensure the fullest quality of life for individuals with intellectual differences to ensure their personal freedoms.
For individuals who have reached the age of 21+, Beacon Achievement Center serves as a DDD approved Day Habilitation program. Community and center based activities are aimed at creating routine, enriching experiences, skill maintenance & acquisition and behavior support services. Individuals are challenged to find purpose and fulfillment through rewarding experiences in the realm of social events, recreational activities, cooking, planning/participating in community outings and exploring new interests.
Teens with developmental disabilities receive after-school and Saturday services through ABA based social, communication-based & recreational activities. The program itself is designed to serve as reinforcement to participants who may otherwise resist a learning environment after a full-day educational program. Activities, goals and strategies are individually based and covered by most insurance companies.
